Worship: Making A Joyful Noise
Nothing in the life of a saint of God is more wonderful than worshipping their Heavenly Father and their Lord and Savior. Worship is the highest honor we can give our God. “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations” (Psalm 100:1-5). Consider His greatness, His Sovereignty, and His Holiness. When you do it with all your heart, it’s overwhelming! That’s what worship is, it is to be overjoyed with Him. If our worship is just noise and emotion without the heart and soul of man glorifying Him, it is all in vain.
We worship Him, not just because He is so wonderful; but, also because of what He means in our life. We are redeemed from sin and the coming judgments of this wicked world. We have been “called out” and welcomed into a Heavenly Family. He sent His Son to wash away our sins and to make new creatures out of us. The true saints of God are possessed by worship. Demon possession is not anything but Satan’s imitation of a Spirit-filled saint. If our worship is not more exciting and glorious than the facade of Satan’s imitation, we should be ashamed to offer it to the Father and our Lord.
