Welcoming Angels

Angels are a wonderful part of both Heavenly activities and earthly activities. Jesus Christ told His disciples, “…Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.” (John 1:51) They are certainly the joy of Heaven as they fill the Holy City with their “Holy, Holy, Holies.” They also desire to be a joy to the saints on earth as they minister for us as we follow after the Lord. Angels are, “…ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14) The Son of God created this great host of beautiful spirits to help fill our universe with His glory. “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:16-17) Most people live their entire lives with no sense of the supernatural or the spiritual holy side of life.

There is a powerful increase of fallen angel activities in our present secular world. Blasphemies of sacred things are flooding the world of entertainment, culture, and print all the way up to political activities. These fallen angels are demon spirits lurking out of sight behind a growing facade of evil. The Harry Potter series of books are college courses in how to welcome spirits into human lives. All a demon needs from any person is a welcome. Multitudes of people are finding temporary pleasure in toying with the world of the occult. Human superstition is a natural part of the unconverted heart, and it is intriguing to attempt to contact the world of the unseen. It is also deadly and damning. Satan and his host play every soul for keeps.

Holy Scripture warns us of the incredible powers of the fallen spirit world. Man in his flesh is helpless to do battle with these spirits. They can afflict the body with deadly force. They can attack the soul and even hijack the spirit of man in complete possession. A great majority of mental derangement is the work of unchecked evil because man has refused to acknowledge His need of the deliverer named Jesus. The world is in great jeopardy as evil prepares for the last great spiritual contest. Apostle Paul said, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:10-12)

After you have clothed yourself with the armor, the Spirit says, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” (Ephesians 6:18) This is absolutely a life and death battle. It’s all out war between the saints of God and His enemies of the spirit world. But the saints of God do not fight to victory but from victory. Our God will fight for us but not without us. Jesus said, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” (Matthew 11:12) When the saints of God are dressed in the armor and pray in the Spirit they are invincible.

The unconverted world is hopelessly heading into the abyss. There is no way that the present descent into the world of Satanism can be stopped. Every individual soul has the privilege of turning to Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible and escaping the coming flood. Religion as a whole has joined up with the one world system and is heading toward the same abyss as the secular world. The trap of deception is beautiful beyond description, but as deadly as the devil himself.

Angelic activity always increases in proportion to the rise of evil. I am convinced that the angels of the Lord stand ready to assist the saints that acknowledge their desperate need. In the majority of cases you will never see them. If you are looking to be intrigued by some display of dazzling power, forget it. The angels of God and Christ seek no glory and will not provide you with glory. Learn to simply trust the promises of God and then praise Him every time a victory is won.

Juanita and I just had a display of spiritual victory in our home. I purchased some New Age books to help me write an article on “Blaspheming The Name Of Jesus.” I put the books on my study couch and later, without thought, laid my open Bible on top of them. Before we went to bed strange activities began to occur in our house where there was no one present. A great sense of unseen powers was awesomely present. About two o’clock in the morning, an incredible struggle occurred right beside my bed. We began to pray in Jesus name and went back to sleep. In the morning as I sat down to refresh myself in prayer, I saw the open Scriptures on top of the New Age books just purchased from a dark, New Age center in Charlotte. I repented, of course, for displaying the Word of God on top of such dark material but I also rejoiced because of the lesson I learned.

It is time to welcome the angels of God, that great host of Jesus Christ, to manifest their supernatural power for their Creator. Jesus Christ is the “Lord of that host” and their joy is to minister for the saints.
