Watch the vision that John had of the preparation for these seals to be opened. “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.” (Revelation 5:1-8) I shared the entire text because so many of you have never read the Book of Revelation.

The opening of these first four seals is not a cheap matter. It is so grand and prophetic that it defies comprehension unless you look with spiritual eyes. The great cherubim that are called “beasts” in chapter five are now heard to say, “Come and see.” The Son of God our eternal redeemer opens the seals and the great angelic cherubim cries for all to look, “Come and see.” Now you can almost see in the future as this occurs and the world is trembling beyond understanding. In verse one of this chapter, as the White Horse Rider went forth, the voice of the great angel was like thunder. I believe that will be true with all four declarations.

The picture of this Red Horse Rider is awesome. “And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.” (Revelation 6:4) His first action is to remove every expression of peace from the total earth. There will never be another sweet night of bodily rest until this seven year period is finished. Every street will be a place of warfare. Every home will be a sad place of fear. We are talking about a mad world of complete anarchy. Justice between nations will vanish. Police will of necessity act and perform their duties without mercy for anyone.

It is not possible to understand this level of death that will fill the news channels. We see in Scripture that at least two thirds of the earth’s population will die during these seven years. If we figure 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) deaths, then that means approximately 650,000,000 (six hundred & fifty million) each year. That will necessitate about 1,780,000 (1.78 million) people dying everyday for the entire seven years. Can you imagine the need to bury 1.78 million people every day, plus the normal deaths, for the entire seven years? This number is an average and could easily be many times that on any given day.

All of these deaths by violence, war, natural disasters, and the antiChrist armies of destruction will each be a catastrophe. It will be impossible for the normal methods of burial to occur. Great pits will be dug by bulldozers and the dead bulldozed into the graves. No doubt the authorities will dig great pits and announce the ultimatum to drop off the dead at these locations. There will be no choice but to cast your loved ones, children, or adults right into these places of mass burial.

This is morbid for me to handle. Millions of these will be families that knew the truth but were too busy with their love for the world to surrender to a Godly life with Christ as Lord. There is clearly a multitude that dies at the hand of the antiChrist and will be buried with the unbelievers. We see them crying out for God’s wrath on their enemies in the same chapter. Their death will be so cruel as to invoke a great sense of injustice.

Listen to the cry of the murdered believers that have repented and turned wholly to Christ. “And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.” (Revelation 6:9-11) You see from this that many more believers were yet to be slaughtered.

You do not have to be here for this horrible time. The great company of the saints that are watching and waiting will be gone when the seals are opened. The blood washed virgins with oil in their vessels will be raptured. This spectacular event could happen before you read these words. If it has not taken place, find yourself an altar and discover the purifying grace of the cross. Only the blood and the great grace of mercy can prepare you to go. It is not your good works or even your clean life. It is the purifying powers of His death on the cross. The grace of God is not for the dead, it is for the living. Come to Jesus now.
