The Passion of Heaven for Lost Souls
Nothing is more overwhelming than knowing how much my Father loves the lost.
I have to believe that there were tears in Heaven as our Father met with all the Heavenly Host, including His Son and the Holy Spirit, and announced that His Son was going to earth as a humble child. This very scene is similar to one of us taking a new born child to San Francisco and turning him over to the homosexual mob. The hatred and destructive behavior that was directed against our Lord was the most vicious acts ever recorded. The Golden Text of our Bible states perfectly: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) No spoken or written words have ever surpassed these words.
This sermon came from the Holy Spirit as I prayed earnestly that He would enable me to have a passion for souls. I want Him to fill me with the love that fills the Heavenly sphere of our long home. I realize that there is no possibility of His righteousness filling me unless I love the lost as He loves them. Being sanctified and experiencing the “Imparted Nature” of Christ guarantees that His righteousness will impart His love of the unsaved. It is impossible to be a saint of God and not share His love to our lost world. The Bible is flooded with this truth.
Not only did our Father send His Son but He also crucified His Son. Without the shedding of Divine Blood there was no hope for His lost world. Not an angel in Heaven nor a human on earth provided any acceptable sacrifice. The death and shedding of blood had to be the same nature of the Father. Animals in the First Testament were only shadows providing a prophetic message. Those that trusted these messages were temporarily provided with a covering but could not go to Heaven when they died. They had to be in Abraham’s Bosom until the “Daysmen” came to be their substitute. That’s where He preached between the cross and the Resurrection.
The Father sent His Son to be this substitute for us. His beautiful, spotless life was the preparation for the perfect offering. Not a spot of blemish on the sacrifice could be accepted. When all was complete and the sacrifice was fully vested it was time for Him to die. The Father had told His Son before He left Heaven, “No man can take your life from you.” Jesus testified to this: “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.” (John 10:18)
This action was the unity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. It was the Father’s plan, the Son’s surrender, and the Holy Spirit’s enablement. All Heaven was indeed the willing participant. Angels were involved from this announcement of His birth until they welcomed Him back to His former glory.
Isaiah by the Holy Ghost penned the most powerful words ever spoken of my Father’s heart and actions. Isaiah could only state these words by the Spirit: “Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53:10-12) The Father crucified His Son.
With a sacrifice like my Father has made for His lost world, how can anyone choose to follow the world to hell? Every step the sinner makes on his journey to destruction must be made over the love of God. If you ever wonder how men can spend eternity in a “Lake of Fire” just recall how the Father tried to stop them. He sends nobody to a fiery judgment, you send yourself by saying “no” to His love.
The New Testament Gospel is the Gospel of Love. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (II Peter 3:9) I believe that Heaven is filled with tears as this world descends into greater and greater wickedness. You may ignore and even repulse that prostitute on the street corner but Heaven weeps. Some preachers preach a limited atonement, that God has chosen only a few, but Satan’s laughs as such insane theology. I sure would not want to face God after preaching such contrary doctrine.
As the end approaches, all Heaven must be at a temporary standstill. The Father is waiting for His last great harvest of souls. The Lord’s own brother in the flesh knew His Lord’s heart and the heart of God. He stated, “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” (James 5:7-8) Those words thrill me. “The husbandman (our Father) waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth…” (James 5:7b)
We may see that man or woman around us or on the street as dispensible and unworthy but not the Father. Unworthy, yes, but dispensible, never. The whole of the Bible was written to guide men to saving truth. “For God so loved the world” is the most wonderful truth of all I have discovered in the Bible. It is the great reality that makes our Bible “The Masterpiece” of all ages. Satan and his horde of fallen spirits have attacked and attacked and attacked, but still it stands because the Father’s Son sealed it with “Divine Blood.”
