The Music of an Apostate Church

 Colossians 3

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

     Nothing determines what the church believes like its music. Songs that are not full of Biblical theology have no place in God’s house. You cannot worship a God whose truth is not in your songs. I’m overwhelmed that lesbians are writing must for Bible churches. I just learned some of the songs they are writing and churches are singing. It is blasphemy.

     This booklet is one I wrote years ago but the truths are still the same. Apostasy always takes people and churches further than they can understand. The devil is a sly deceiver. The human body without sanctification by the blood will never spot his deceptions. Men and women of God must be prayer warriors, watching and judging everything that invades the church life. Elders and deacons must stand guard and let the Holy Ghost guide every thought to the Bible.

     The music minister at Brownsville Assembly of God in Pensacola, Florida, Lindell Cooley, defined the music of the “revival” as “honky music.” That word is an excellent description of Beatle’s music, as well as Pensacola’s music. The dictionary defined “honky” as an adjective, which means “cheap entertainment or jangly piano music.(Chambers English Dictionary, W & R Chambers, Ltd., 1990, p. 683.) Jangly music is dissonant, described as “not agreeing or harmonizing in sound, a combination of musical sounds that call for resolution or produces beats.” (Ibid, p. 412) This is clearly Beatles’ music and it is an excellent description of the music that has invaded the church.  Instead of quieting the human spirit, as music was created to accomplish, it arouses the human spirit and guides the person into unfamiliar realms of the emotions.  It is perfect for creating altered states or a hypnotic condition.  It is clearly music designed to do the opposite of what our creator ordained.

     Lindell Cooley made these statements as recorded on a video on the tenth night of the “revival.”  (June 27, 1995)  As he spoke of his church roots, he said, “We never sang anything this ‘honky’.”  He added, “I began to look at some of the songs.  I could sing them to a wife or someone I love.”  Turning to the pastor, John Kilpatrick, he then stated, “To let you know all of us are feeling a little weird, pastor, all of us.”  These statements are not statements of criticism, but rather confessional words right from the minister of music.

And it came to pass as they came, when David was returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of musick.

And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.

     Don Meon, the creative director at Integrity Music, added additional expressions of interest. He was interviewed for the Pentecostal Evangel, as reported on November 10, 1996.  When asked, “Why is this tape important (tape of music from Brownsville)?”  Meon answered.  “Because something is imparted when you listen to this tape.  I don’t want it to sound spooky or mysterious, but there’s something powerful about embracing the music of the revival.  The fire of the revival can stir in you even as you listen to the songs that took place at the Brownsville revival.”  (“Don Meon Discusses Music At Brownsville Assembly”, Pentecostal Evangel, November 10, 1996, p. 7.)

     It’s amazing that such words would be used by key players. Look at them again:  “honky, weird, spooky, and mysterious.”  Those words clearly describe what happened when the Beatles erupted on the American scene.  Their music reached right into the souls of the American youth and some older souls and introduced a form of music that “altered their consciousness.”  It was honky and spooky, plus it was powerful the way this strange sound and broken melodies of the Beatles captured lives and started a music type of religion.  Now, that same Antichrist music and its religion are capturing the church.  Pensacola is literally driven by this weird music and the impartations.  Without the music and the unbiblical impartations, the place would be emptied in a short period.  The two are intimately connected.

 Vineyard Music

     Pastor Kilpatrick stated clearly on a Sunday morning tape of August 13, 1995, that the music he and his wife had chosen for the Brownsville church was Vineyard music.  When you properly connect the Vineyard music to John Wimber and the Vineyard Church, the next step is James Kyle and his Beatles’ vision.  James Kyle, pastor to Bill McCartney, is a Vineyard pastor.  He describes this new sound as having originally been given to the Beatles by God.  Here are his exact words.  They sound out of order, but it is the way Ryle’s gives it in his strange vision.  First, he was told, “I’m about to release a new kind of song in the streets.  It will bring a revelation of the truth and it will usher men into my presence.”  Then, he stated, “The Lord said that in 1970 He lifted the anointing for that extraordinary music that could arrest the attention of men, and for twenty years He has held it in His hand.  He is about to release it again.  He said that it does not belong to the world, it belongs to the church.  That’s why it (the amp) was in the church’s equipment room.”  He added, “I know that there can be some misunderstanding with this Beatles’ connection, but that is how it was related to me in the dream and I later saw this principle related in the Scriptures.  Psalm 68:18 reads:  ‘You ascended on high, you led captivity captive and gave gifts to men – even among the rebellious . . .’”   (The “Sons Of Thunder” Dreams/Visions, James Ryle [no date given]).

     One thing is very important.  The Bible is the only revelation of truth and there is no Scripture to even suggest music as the vehicle from which truth originates.  Second, the Scripture makes it clear that Satan duplicates everything God creates.  Satan’s music is not from God, its source is rebellion, the Antichrist, and it is full of deception.  Instead of creating harmony with God in the human spirit, it creates disharmony and opens up men to false spirits.  Again, it is the opposite of the music that our Creator created.

 

Revelation 18

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

Two Songs From Pensacola

     There are two main songs that appear to help drive the Pensacola impartations.  The first is what appears to be the theme, The River Is Here.  (The words are printed in a box for your review.)  This song is New Age to the core.  It is void of truth, treats God in a generic fashion, and suggests that God’s grace and glory flows from a river.  Notice the term, “And all who touch it can be revived.”  Standing in the Brownsville church, I watched almost everyone dance, jump, jerk, shake, or swoon to this song.  It captured the crowd, but it absolutely was not the Holy Spirit.  After forty-five years of Biblical worship, it clearly showed no kin.

     The other song is on the opposite side of the pendulum.  The above song is hypnotic in a mood-altering fashion.  The second song gets you ready to be zapped.  It is named, Fire In His Eyes, and is usually sung right before Evangelist Hill takes the services.  (These words are, also, printed for your review.)  I have no way of knowing the mind of the composer, but it certainly does not fit historic theology.

     Jesus is not riding a white horse, but is seated at the right hand of the Father.  He will ride this horse after the Rapture and the Great Tribulation when He returns to fight the Battle of Armageddon.  Revelation, chapter six, suggests a White Horse rider with a crown and a bow, but this is judgment against the wicked and is certainly not when the saints ride.  Most Bible teachers call this rider the Antichrist or the going forth of righteousness and judgment. 

     This appears to be in perfect accord with the theology of the Vineyard Church and their Joel’s Army of conquerors.  It is called Dominion Theology and denies the traditional Rapture of the church.  The words of these two songs are certainly confusing, but the spirit (Meon calls it “spooky” and mysterious.”) is even more dangerous.  Why would we even consider this kind of music to sing to the Lord Jesus Christ?  The truth is that we would not, because this music is not sung to Jesus Christ, it is sung to a new Jesus and by a totally different spirit.

     The transition from honoring the Lord Jesus with singing and praise to honoring a false Jesus takes place first in the soul.  The worshipper is not conscious of this transition and may be absolutely sincere and honest.  The best way to notice that this transition has begun is the new arrogance and unapproachableness of those passing through this paradigm.  The word paradigm describes the New Age idea of transition between two world views.  It is deeply subjectional.  You cannot put a handle on it and there are few words to describe it, but you can easily spot a person who has passed into this new view.

Luke 15

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

It’s Easy To Make The Transition

     Leave your theology at home.  Don’t question the big name who is dispensing this power.  Open up and drink.  Do not ask questions for questions and Biblical reasoning is a solid block against this change.  Even a young Christian with little experience is a stalwart against this deception if they cling to the Word of God and refuse to be swooned by the crowd controllers.  You may leave in shock, but you will leave intact if you claim His Name only and refuse to give your mind to something or someone.  The Lord said, “. . . let us reason together, saith the Lord.” (Isaiah 1:18).

     Dr. David A. Noebal said of the Beatles’ music, “The hard fact is that in this present revolutionary era, heavy beat music has become the catalyst for the young radicals in their announced plans not only to destroy Western culture, but to dethrone God.  And few can really deny that the Beatles have and are playing a strategic and crucial role in the spiritual and cultural demise of the West and in the proposed destruction of Christianity throughout the world.” (The Beatles, A Study In Drugs, Sex And Revolution, Rev. David A. Noebel, p. 8.) 

     The Beatles’ music has now finished duping the world and is now in the sanctuary.  Pensacola is making this music more famous and groovy than even the lying Lucifer could have ever dreamed.
