THE HOLY GHOST: QUICKENS THE MORTAL BODY
HELPLESS FLESH, BORN IN SIN, CAN BE TRANSFORMED AND MADE DYNAMIC BY THE LIFE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD. The Holy Ghost was not sent to give you an emotional high, He came to flood you with life, even abundant spiritual life far beyond just emotions. Apostle Paul said it plainly, “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Romans 8:11) The church world is hopelessly sick and empty and searching the empty cisterns of flesh for something to revise their flock.
This is the very reason that the modern church has turned to rock music, the psychologist’s couch and multiple schemes of sociology for resuscitation. Look at the modern young turks starting rock music churches in the style of Rick Warren and his kind. On the short term they are drawing a multitude, but there houses are built on sand. Simon the Sorcerer in Act’s Eight, would be wildly successful today. Until Phillip came to Samaria with the power of the Spirit, the city was insane after the strange fire of deception. The anointing on Phillip broke this spell.
The Rick Warren church world along with the entire “User Friendly” multitude are scared to death of the Holy Ghost anointing. The only reason the “Emergent Church” is exploding is the absence of Holy Ghost filled men and woman of God. The early church following the Pentecostal Baptism literally turned the world upside down. The Holy Ghost recorded these words, “These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also.” (Acts 17:6) That’s what the Holy Ghost wants to do in us in our generation.
A devoted saint of God, man or women, who is full of the Holy Ghost life are exciting and happy people. Satan cannot defeat them. They cannot be discouraged or destroyed. They are not looking for self glory or positions of fame. They live only for Christ and seek no glory but Him. Even as I write this I know we have so little of this level of devotion, but that is about to change.
The one reason many people do not desire to be full of the Holy Ghost is that there is no room left for self. God’s Holy Spirit wants all of you so He can be the Master of your life. When He is Master there is no possibility of failure. Jesus made this fact plain. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” (St. John 14:12-14)
This mighty third member of the eternal Godhead cannot be defeated. Defeat does not exist in His character. We fail when we are doing our own thing or pursuing our own fleshly produced action. He cannot and will not anoint your program or plans. Christ’s church is Holy Ghost baptized and He promises victory. “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 16: 18-19) It’s thrilling to even consider such absolute victory in spiritual life.
The answer is a fresh understanding of the Holy Ghost filled life. So much of Pentecost has been built on emotions. Why do we want to be Spirit-filled Christians? Every interested person must answer that question. Are you hungry after Jesus Christ and His perfect plan and purpose for your life. Are you willing to put your plan on the altar. If the answer is a resounding “yes,” then He is ready to set up housekeeping in your vessel. You will love the moments of His joy, but you will love better the complete peace of doing His will.
The testimony of Apostle Paul never fails to excite me, He said, “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:10-14) This is the perfect testimony of a sold out believer.
If all you want is a big shout and to speak in a language you have not learned, the Biblical Baptism is not for you. You may well have some kind of experience and even a big shout sometimes, but you will be at best a ‘fly on the wall’ of some church building. But if you desire the majestic life of living in the Life of Jesus Christ, sanctify yourself from the carnal thoughts and let the Lord take Lordship control. The best of this spiritual life is yours to claim and live.
The Holy Ghost filled life will include, “speaking in the Spirit,” but it will be communion with God, not esoteric nonsense. You will not have some prayer language to beg for your wants. You will have a direct line of communion with the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. Your prayer life will become mighty to victory and the needs of a lost world will become your burden. This communion with God will bring the will of Jesus Christ to the top of your interest and joy. The Early Church was a powerhouse for Christ.
Listen to this great voice from the first church generation. A theologian, scholar and writer named Novatian (A.D. 258) proudly defended the gifts of the Spirit, “This is He who places prophets in the Church, instructs teachers, directs tongues, gives powers and healings, does wonderful works, often discrimination of spirits, affords powers of government, suggests counsels, and orders and arranges whatever other gifts there are of charismata; and thus make the Lord’s Church everywhere, and in all, perfected and completed.” (Treatise Concerning the Trinity, Chapter 29.) How can a Bible believer deny this experience to a true saint of God today?
Again the Apostle Paul made this plain. “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God..” (Romans 8:26-27) The Holy Ghost comes to your life to bring the fullness of the “Born Again” life. His purpose is to be constantly revealed in you. He quickens you to spiritual living and pure conduct. It is literally a supernatural Life.

Am thankful for this piece where Bro. Chambers has not only exalted the ministry of the Spirit of God, but has taken pains to identify a major false minister in the “modern” Church. Too many are afraid to mention the name of Rick Warren – because of proximity (southern California – Orange County), power (world-wide influence of Warrenism) and prestige (being anointed “America’s Pastor” by a lost American news media who doesn’t know the Lord from a lamp post). Jesus warned us to beware of men, and Peter later warned, “who privily …bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them … II Peter 2:1.
The Holy Spirit exalts the Word of God, with reproof, rebuke and exhortation. We need to be obedient and take God at His Word – all of it, not just the juicy passages. Good day.

It’s not just the church in our neighborhoods anymore. There used to be spiritual channels that had preachers and teachers that were once Bible believing. Not so anymore. I used to watch insp, there used to be good preaching on that channel. Now, it’s retro television. Wasn’t that what TVLand was supposed to be? Insp is still better than the others that have ridiculous shows on like Knife show/cutlery corner that promotes blade weapons from pocket knives to deer knives. What about Brizillian Butt? Is that not the most vulger thing to ever put on a ‘spiritual’ channel? It promotes a better looking backside for the world view. Basically promoting sex. Where do they come up with this crap? Finally, you have Zumba excersize dance program for the importance os staying fit, good enough but, there is no place for that on the ‘spiritual’ channel.
Come quickly, L-rd Jesus. I grow very tired of this place.

Hey! The Holy Ghost has quickened the Church once more! We have a new, humble pope who asks to be blessed by the flock before he begins his role as the shepherd who, as Jesus told Peter, will feed His lambs and tend His sheep. Pray that Pope Francis will be the means by which the rushing wind of the Spirit of God will swab the decks of the Barque of Peter.

When we see entire denominations rolling over for decades of pro-homosexual propaganda, turning their backs on Israel while pleading the cause of the “poor Palestinians,” most of whom believe the false prophet Mohammed, how could anyone possibly think the Holy Spirit is present in any way among them?
Without the Spirit to lead them into the truth, the people running these apostate churches have their minds so veiled that it is impossible even to reason with them. Believe me, in my last years with the Episcopal Church, I tried!
By the way, on a positive note, the History Channel’s “The Bible” is getting a great response. Doesn’t this point to a great spiritual longing and hunger here in America? It would seem there still is a considerable remnant not buying into lying standards society, and unfortunately, many churches as well, have been embracing.
It may very well be the presence of this faithful remnant that is hold back God’s judgment, just as the angels waited until Lot and his family were safely out of town before Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed.
I expect that sometime soon federal legislation will come out to legitimize gay “marriage” overriding a state’s right to reject legalizing this perversion. The comparison between the U.S. and those ancient cities is becoming closer all the time.
As, I am sure, is its fate!
