Pulling Down the Ruler of Darkness
The oil barons are determined to choke our world into financial chaos. The Holy Bible calls them, “rulers of the darkness of this world,” (Ephesians 6:12b). Two of these barons are Hugo Chávez of Venezuala and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran. They hate America and Israel with perfect hatred and will never give up their war against us. We must learn that this “earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof” (I Corinthians 10:26). He owns the oil in the ground as well as the cattle on the hill. We must also learn that our struggles are not against flesh and blood but against the rulers of darkness. This is just as true in our financial world as in our spiritual world.
God’s Word identifies the effects of evil activities as being responsible for turning our world into a wilderness. Many nations and cultures have been destroyed by Satan throughout history. Isaiah was a statesman prophet that accused Satan for his destruction of our world. He stated, “They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?” (Isaiah 14:16-17).
We know that judgment is coming but there is a Restrainer that will restrain evil until the rapture of the saints. We must understand this and direct our prayers in this vein of hope and confidence. We do not have to lie down and play dead because of what will happen when “The Seven Years of Great Tribulation” begin. We are living in hope and on the bright side of His promises.
IÂ’m calling on the Salty Saints to join me in prayer for the defeat of evil and for the mighty hand of GodÂ’s Restrainer. This Restrainer is the third member of the eternal Godhead and His powers are perfectly equal to the Father and the Son. These evil oil barons are representatives of a very small area of the One World Order, but they can put the whole economy on its head. The billions of dollars that goes from Americans to missions, missionaries, and human aid of incredible proportion could be utterly destroyed. I do not believe my Father wants that to happen before the Rapture. These billions show the world the difference between Christianity and the endless list of terrorist seeking only to destroy and kill.
A harvest of souls could also occur by our binding of these rulers of darkness. Look at this passage in scripture, “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:11-12).
These “rulers of darkness” are joined by “spiritual wickedness” because it is a struggle by evil against the gospel of Christ and the salvation of man. I believe my Father wants to give a harvest of souls before His Son returns for the saints. It will be prayer in the Spirit that breaks this hold that darkness has on the church.
The kind of praying that can effect the pulling down of the evil of these “oil tycoons” and the defeat of “spiritual wickedness” will be heartrending prayer. Little petty prayers without the passion of tears will not change one thing. The need is Godly saints that weep because of the abomination of sin and the disregard for Holy things. Fasting and prayer is God’s combination for Satan’s defeat.
I bid you to join me in putting on the whole armor of God and going after the pulling down of strongholds. The reason we are told to put on His armor is because Satan fights back. Without the armor, you are a sitting duck. The Holy Book says it powerfully, “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” (Ephesians 6:14-18)
I believe we are going to see victory. LetÂ’s give our whole selves to the spiritual life and believe for triumph. My greater burden is a harvest of souls for the Lord and His church.
