NEW JERUSALEM: Having God’s Glory, Clear As Crystal

“Her light was like a stone most precious even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.” (Revelation 21:11b) God’s Shekinah will literally enrapture the city and the sun and moon will be needed no longer. This world knows almost nothing about the incredible glory of our God. There was a time when a “Spirit Filled” church would actually witness the Shekinah of God in the midst of worship. The Tabernacle of Moses, when dedicated, was so filled with God’s Glory that Moses could not enter. “And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle” (Exodus 40:35) The same marvelous thing happened when Solomon dedicated the temple in Jerusalem. “So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.” (I Kings 8:11) The word Shekinah means the dwelling or settling of “God’s manifest glory.” On the day of Pentecost the manifest presence filled the Upper Room and tongues of fire set on 120 obedient saints. I have seen that glory when I was first saved in 1952 at the tabernacle on Wilkinson Blvd. in Charlotte, North Carolina. When you read of the great moments of revival during Andrew Murray’s ministry or the “Great Awakening in Wales, England” led by Evan Roberts, God’s glory was clearly manifest. This started in the Presbyterian church. The very area where I live in Charlotte had an awakening that occurred in the Presbyterian church with up to ten thousand in attendance. Here is a quote from the revival in Wales. “Coal miners crowded into prayer meetings that lasted till 3:00 a.m. and then washed, ate breakfast and returned to work. Many drunkards confessed their sins and received Christ, according to the London Times of February 2nd, 1905. Due to the Welsh revival, many men abandoned dens of iniquity. Employers noticed a great improvement in the work produced by their employees. A judge named Sir Marchant Williams said that his work was much lighter especially regarding drunkenness and related offenses.” (A written report from the Welsh revival.) It is sad that the present state of most churches completely forbids a manifestation of God’s glory. While I’m excited about New Jerusalem and God’s marvelous Shekinah on that city and the world I would be a happy man to see God’s glory again in our churches before the Rapture. A true revival will match every truth of Holy Scripture.

    Here is a personal anecdote. I had been a member of the Episcopal Church most of my life until 2007. In the particular parish I attended all that time one could walk into that building and actually sense God’s Presence. It was not anything like the blazing manifestation which one resided in the Hebrew temple, but it was there nevertheless. You could go there by yourself and still not be alone, if you know what I mean.

    As the Episcopal Church (TEC) slid deeper and deeper into apostasy nationally, its false doctrines eventually made their way to the doors of my former parish. Those of us who resisted found ourselves increasingly marginalized. Due to the refusal of our rector to make a credible stand against TEC’s blatant heretical doctrines (He decided not to make waves, take his retirement and split.), it now has a lackluster liberal rector and an aging and shrinking congregation. Thirty-five years ago there were some 200 kids in Sunday School, now, last I heard, there were two. I am actually sorry they have even two since they are no doubt being exposed to TEC’s lying doctrines.

    In my last years there that Presence I mentioned likewise faded and by the time I left, that church building was just as empty as the Hebrew temple had itself become when Israel began to forsake God an dembrace idolatry. I can’t get over the parallels between them and what happened in my old parish.

    The thing is, in the next parish I joined, I discovered its pastor was a heretic in his own right, to wit: Paul never had his with Jesus on the road to Damascus, his epistles were just “commentaries,” and there were undertones of antiSemitism in some of his comments. My tenure there actually ended with a loud verbal sparring match between him and I at the end of one of his Bible studies.

    Im regard to my first parish I discovered that several others there had exactly the same impression as mine and a few of them have finally left as well.

    That the New Jerusalem will be so magificent that words can’t even come close to describing it is without question and I am looking forward to seeing it for myself one day.

    But I think the one of the things I’m looking forward to the most is sensing that Presence once again and knowing I am welcome.

    I have really have missed that.

    I look forward to Pastor Joseph’s treatment of the Shekinah because this is one if the most avoided or ignored manifestations of the Lord in church teaching today. Consider that the Star observed and followed by the wise men in Matthew 2 was not some planetary or galactic conjunction in the sky others have contended. It was the Shekinah Glory of God. It moved and guided the wise men at will. No small wonder that Herod and all Jerusalem was so upset – they missed or ignored the prophecies of Jesus First Coming. When confronted, the rabbis in Jerusalem understood what the star meant – but they were as blind as Herod and the others because the rabbinic Judaism practiced at that time was in total darkness and far from Torah-inspired worship.

    Pastor Chambers:
    I remember the Shekinah back in the mid 60s……. at North Highland Assemblies of God in Georgia… maybe not like earlier on years back..but what we received was Shekinah Glory…..NO DOUBT about that.
    Like you said, at those times….. people didn’t want to leave church and go home… That went on for some weeks…..The Glory draws people without them even knowing it… I hardly knew what it was but it was more than awesome… We all hung around the church like we were waiting to be served coffee and cake…..

    I am hoping the Lord will again VERY SOON… come down in His Glory and people WILL fall in the floors and NEVER again be the same.. We need that Glory more now than ever before.

    On another note….. we all better be concerned about Mitt Romney….What a nice man. But what a mixed up faith system. We live out here in Mormon country….. they are not better people than any people any where….. they have as much dysfunction in their church as we do in our….However, we do worship the Christ of the Bible…. to those that do.
    I’ve been to their church and it is VERY, VERY dry…. they speak more about Joseph Smith than they do about their Jesus Christ… there is always selected speaker and he usually has a title…he speaks about the Prophet Joseph Smith, then more about the ‘temple’ in Salt Lake… that is VERY holy ground to ALL Mormons… And, they are no more ‘good’ than our people in our churches…It is just hidden more….
    They are nice people and they do try to be good…..but by only our human standards….like when we were children and were very ‘nice’ to please our parents….They are ‘good’ in that way in the flesh.
    We all need to be very afraid of a Mormon in the white house.
    They respect and honor their leaders in Salt Lake… they ALL do…. esp. the higher up in their church…
    They have the leader, called the President AND is also called The Prophet…then there are the 12 Apostles and then there are the 70s and I forget what they are called but all those call the shots for all leaders in the church…..and as for Mitt…if IN, they will call the shots for him TOO and he will obey as do Catholics obey their pope in Rome…
    Most of those men are NOT necessarily kind, compassionate men…but rather firm and of ”importance.” and EDUCATION, IT is the saddest thing you’ve ever seen……because..most are in there because of generations of them….passed down from Joseph Smith…. They do not put much considerations on what they call “Converts”…but the ones that have been in for generations are the important members who are looked up to…
    The entire church is all about human-pride….the flesh…
    The American Christian Church knows so little about our own Holy Bible they could buy up Mormonism without having a clue…
    “Converts” are only ‘numbers’ to them… They do genealogy to prove to each other how important they each are… “who’s who in Jopseh Smith ancestery”….

    I am friendly with them and I speak The Word and many DO know The Word of God…but then they will pull out the Book of Mormon… I DO believe “some” do know the true Jesus Christ… and they are hidden down in the middle of them all.
    Mitt Romney is a nice, clean and attractive man, husband and father….but knows not the Lord Jesus…
    WE surely better be VERY wise in these days…

    God’s blessings from a sunny south africa. we are in the middle of the ANC 100 year birthday and most of them are ancestral worshippers from mandela down. this week the demons are going to have free reign. we have desmond tutu and jesse jackson to contend with, both wolves dressed as sheep. we live under a curse as does the whole of africa. please pray.

    SHEKINAH GLORY & IMITATIONS

    Dear Joe Chambers,

    When God displayed his Shedkinah Glory at the Taberancle and later at Solomon’s Temple. That was his way of showing that he accepted it. The Shekinah Glory also appeared in the Upper Rom like you said. There was another place that it appeared in Israel too dring the time of the Apostles. When peter preach to some Romans in an Israli coastal town at a house the Holy Spirit filled everyone gathered at that house just like at Pentacost. There may have be something like it at some churches too, ike you say.

    WE DO HAVE TO WATCH OUT, BECAUSE SATAN CAN PRODUCE HIS OWN CONTERFEIT SHEKINAH STYLE GLORY, ESPECIALLY AT CATHOLIC APPARITIONS SITES SUCH AS FATIMA PORTUGAL, LOURDES IN FRANCE, NANCY FOWLER’S FARM IN CONYERS GA. IF YOU SEE “SHEKINAH GLORIES” AT CATHOLIC LOCATIONS, IT IS PROBABLY NOT OF GOD BUIT IS OF SATAN. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT SATAN CAN APPERAR AS AN ANGEL OF LIGHT. THIS IS WHY SHEKINAH STYLE GLORIES APPAER AT CATHOLIC SITES. IT IS CALLED APPARITIONS.

    IF YOU SEE A SHEKINAH STYLE GLORY, WHICH SHEKINAH GLORY IS IT THAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT, IS IT FROM GOD? OR IS IT FROM SATAN THE ANGEL OF LIGHT?

    iF YOU SEE IT, YOU BETTER CHECK IT OUT TO SEE OF IT IS OF GOD, BECAUSE THE DEVIL CAN SURE COUNTERFEIT THIS.

    You may see more SHEKINAH SIGHTS IN THE LAST DAYS. This could be another sign of the end times. The lord did say that there would be signs in the skies.

    There is an old book out, My Christian friend was reading it (It was called 50 years on the trail)
    He showed me a chapter in that book, about a hole of water, the Mormons were surronding this place
    And they Killed everyone who come by to water themself and stole cattle, Nice Occult people wouldn’t
