The Mental War on Truth
The entire universe is locked in a life and death struggle about “truth.” When Satan entered the Garden of God he immediately attacked “truth.” His first words were, “… Yea, hath God said,…?” (Genesis 3:1) He then proceeded to voice “half-truths.” Adam and Eve were defeated, not by naked error, but by truth with a twist. The schemes of Lucifer have never changed. All human thought, whether spiritual or secular, can be divided into three parts. Those parts are “truth, half-truths, and error.” Choose any science, educational idea, or profession and these three laws of “human thought” will apply. The foundation of all of our mental exercise carries us back to the Garden where truth and error were first engaged.
The closing hour in which we live only serves to amplify this war of “truth.”
Our educational world warns us against rigid “truth.” The classrooms of America are mainly controlled by “openness of thought.” The delight of the so-called great minds is to debate. The one system that is rejected within this atmosphere is absolute truth. The average professor will go bananas if he or she has a student that speaks of truth as a fixed system. The educational world has made any thought of absolutes the blasphemy of academia.
Right in the middle of this mix is the infallible Word of God. The Bible speaks of itself and says, “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.” (Psalm 119:89) Much of our church world wants to add the same standard to the Bible that they learned under a humanistic teacher. An absolute faith in God’s infallible Word is the foundation of the Bible and Christianity. Adam and Eve’s experience has taught us that “truth with a twist” will get you nothing but trouble. Apostle Paul said, “But without faith (an unshakable conviction in God’s revelations) it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6) No man can serve God unless he is willing to put his own brain on perfect display before Holy truths.
This is the door to spiritual victory that is mind-expanding. The human mind is a powerhouse of capabilities. The devil hates the idea of the creative ingeniousness of God’s chosen creation. The whole system of twisted truths/half-truths is Satan’s design to immobilize and impair our lives and our spiritual ability. It is pure truth that sets men free to become all of the Father’s design. Study the Scripture and research the great minds that have made Christianity a powerhouse of supernatural results and you will find believers that stood on “absolute truth.” They were willing to be rejected by the compromisers until God proved His glory in their lives.
A pure mind is the center of great spiritual wisdom and power to advance God’s Kingdom. Apostle Paul experienced this sheer dynamic authority to pull down strongholds and to bring into captivity thoughts (or mental imaginations) to the obedience of Christ. Listen to the truth inspired to Paul by the Holy Ghost. “ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-6)
Our Great God does not advance His Kingdom without His saints. The level of many individual ministries and successes will depend greatly on us and the utter surrender of all of our brainpower for His cause. The human mind set free of self and half-truths can be GodÂ’s powerhouse for transforming many souls.
No wonder James taught that, “A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” (James 1:8) Jesus declared one of His great thoughts in the Sermon on the Mount. “The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, (without duplicity) thy whole body shall be full of light.” (Matthew 6:22) Our world is desperate for great minds free of all of Satan’s strongholds. Your enemy is going to do his best to put anything possible in your mind to hinder and impair you. Negative thoughts, distaste for others, jealousy, envy, strife, anger, unbelief, and a multitude of unnamed thoughts or half-truths are at his disposal.
The saint’s mind free of all encumbrances and set apart to perfect truth can “…say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” (Mark 11:23b) Half-truths and troubled thinking is cheating God’s church out of prayer warriors that could shake this world for Jesus Christ. Refuse to let your mind be the devil’s garbage pail another day. “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5) The war for your mind is on but you can win by His mighty power.
