The Lord of Sabaoth Multitude of Angels
The great power of angels is evident throughout the First Testament. Two angels totally obliterated Sodom and Gomorrah, after physically removing Lot out of the city. Angels encircled the city of Dothan and delivered the enemy’s army into Elijah’s hands. David said, “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” (Psalm 34:7) Apostle Paul said the following about angels, “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14) The saints that forget to accept and believe in God’s ordained ministry of angels are foolish. Angels move in the wake of the Holy Ghost. Where the Spirit is not welcomed, they are also not welcomed.
When the Son of God arose from the dead and ascended to God, the Father welcomed Him right into the Heavenly Temple. The very first item of business was the installation of the Son of God as the "High Priest" of all the Heavenly host and "Lord" of all power in Heaven and in earth. Jesus proclaimed this truth to His disciples. “All power (authority, jurisdiction, all mastery to exercise every power and to have all final control) is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (Matthew 28:18b) The Son of God is “Lord of all” and that certainly means the total angelic host, archangels, cherubims, seraphims, and the servant angels. He directs all their activities and ministries. His authority is given them according to their tasks. (The angels used angelic powers in the First Testament, but uses His authority and powers by His blood in the New Testament.) Before this mighty host, Satan is utterly defeated.
Satan is organizing his fallen host of angels as the end nears and ashe is planning for a last ditch stand. The entire worldly crowd is under delusion to spirits of evil and is being used to plan SatanÂ’s schemes. Religion that has left the infallible Bible is clearly controlled by religious spirits. They only serve Satan but are convinced that they do GodÂ’s bidding. It is sad to watch such high sounding religious ideas as those that fill our world and know that they are completely false. The political world and the economic world have both become tools of the One World dream. So much that is happening looks so good to the lustful eyes of those that love the world, but it is all on track to destruction.
The coming harvest of the earth will involve the great multitude of angels that are acting in perfect harmony with the Lord’s beautiful design. The Rapture is their next great activity. They will act with the Holy Spirit to deliver the raptured crowd, both those resurrected from the dead and the glorified living saints-right up through the midair to the presence of the Lord. The devil and his angels will try to hinder the resurrection of every saint’s body. Jude spoke of this concerning Moses’ body. “Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.” (Jude 1:9) The angels of the Lord will be present throughout the earth to rebuke every hindering spirit at every grave. They will no doubt say, “The Lord rebuke thee.” These angels will line the highways through the sky and provide a perfect pathway into the city of our God.
Revelation’s great timeline of prophecy shows the angels of God in joint activities with the resurrected and glorified saints administering the judgment of God on earth. It’s the angels that engage Satan and his evil host in a royal battle right in the mid-heavens and forever end Satan’s ability to move freely in the “powers of the air.” No fallen angel can leave the confines of the earth once this battle is ended. Satan and his deceived host are seen casting blasphemies from the earth up into the heavens, but their powers are slowly disappearing and becoming nothing but loud and empty words of helplessness. The fallen angels will soon be a memory in God’s entire universe.
When Christ returns to set up His kingdom on earth, His angels will be His reapers to separate the wicked out of His millennium kingdom. He calls them wicked tares. “The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” (Matthew 13:39-43) The righteous saints can take great joy in anticipating the removal of every offense, every evil and gossiping person, and every hateful and malicious individual. Perfect peace shall reign in the heart of every citizen in His coming millennium.
Angels are encamped around about the righteous saints and will deliver those that trust in the Lord alone. Do not dare to trust your flesh or doubt His great army of cherubims. They move in the wake of His Spirit, and they search for the perfect heart. Do not be weary when you think God has not moved in time or sent His angels to deliver. Remember Mary and Martha. They said, “Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.” (John 11:32b) Jesus admonished, “Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” (John 11:40) The Lord was there right on time.
