Holy Ghost Oil and the Rapture
There is a place of absolute certainty to be in the Bride when the Church is Raptured. It is simple and it is Biblical. The Holy Spirit is God’s Divine agent in the heart of every “born again” saint. When the Spirit regenerates a believing person that truly surrenders to the Lord, that same Spirit then takes up His dwelling in that believer’s life. It is impossible to claim to be Christian in the Biblical sense unless the Holy Spirit lives in that spirit of the Believer. Apostle Paul left no doubt that no one is secure in salvation unless His Spirit abides, “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his” (Romans 8:9). That’s a powerful statement! Paul continues on this subject by stating, “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father” (Romans 8:15). Yes, I am a Pentecostal and I believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues but that is not what Paul speaks about. The Holy Spirit moves into our life the moment we are “born again” and He never ceases to minister in us unless we “quench Him, resist Him” or “blaspheme Him.” He works within our human spirit and temple to magnify Jesus Christ and will at the Rapture “glorify us” with a new body. This is what was lost in the foolish virgins but real in the five wise virgins. The five foolish virgins missed the Rapture because the Spirit’s work had been closed out of their life. The five wise virgins entered into the Marriuage supper because the Spirit’s presence was real in that life.

Thank you Bro. Chambers, I may not meet you on this side, but will see you on the other side.
Happy New Year.

The time is fast coming. People must take sides…with Christ or without Christ.
The Holy Spirit is waiting for each person’s decision. The Rapture is not years,
but days away. Thanks Bro Chambers. Keep telling them, it’s their last chance.
Great writing, my friend. Dr. Donn

Holy Gost oil.
I am a Pentecostal and also believe that once a person is really saved, born again that he can not be lost.

Hello Pastor Joseph.
The Bible definitely teaches that we are resurrected by the same means as was Jesus (2 Corinthians 4:14) and that it is the Holy Spirit that makes it possible. Now I have a different view than the Pentecostals in that I think that upon belief, the Holy Spirit takes up residence (very much a baptism in my mind as we are “immersed” in the Holy Spirit at this time) when one accepts Jesus and it need not be evidenced by the gift of tongues immediately manifesting itself. In fact, one may receive a different gift or several altogether at another time.
Recall that the Bible never records Jesus speaking in tongues even when the Holy Spirit came upon him after his water baptism by John. The miracles Jesus performed certainly was evidence of the Spirit within him but the thing is, by requiring “tongues” as evidence of the Holy Spirit, Jesus would not have passed this test!!
In 1 Corinthians 12 Paul tells us that there are various gifts which can be imparted, the key being in verse 11 which states that the Spirit divides them “to every man severally as he will.”
In other words, I take this all to mean that the Holy Spirit decides the “what” and the “when” as far as gifts go, based on what is needed at the time.
It is interesting to see that in the Book of Acts, to my knowledge, the only time it specifically says the gift of tongues was given was in conjunction with the Holy Spirit coming upon people were when foreigners were present – Acts 2:1-11, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 19:1-6. Yet even in Acts 2 we are not sure if it was a matter of the disciples speaking different tongues or the audience miraculously hearing it as such. I think it is the latter since there were scoffers who still didn’t understand and thought these men were drunk (Acts 2:13-15). In Acts 8:14-17 there is no mention of which, if any, gift was manifested. Furthermore, in Luke 1:41-45, Elizabeth prophesied, and so did her husband Zacharias (Luke 1:67-79) upon the Holy Ghost coming upon them, just as notables from the Old Testament often did.
Nevertheless, despite this difference of opinion on how the Holy Spirit makes himself evident, we do agree that our future resurrection depends on his presence within us – and I believe this is something on which the Bible is very clear and on which we should all agree.

Dear Pastor Chambers: Your argument for the work of the Holy Spirit being closed out in the Five Foolish Virgins appears to be consistent with the Bible. Paul warns about the need to hold fast to our faith. In Psalms 51:10, it says, “10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.” According to verse 11, God is able to take the oil from believers who are persistently careless with the gift of salvation and live in opposition to the work of the Holy Spirit in their life. The need to repent from careless (sinful) behavior is imperative. Careless living, to be sure, is an expression of the believer’s heart showing a severe disregard for the shed blood of the Christ. This ought not to be! If faith is a gift and we are careless to hold fast to that gift, then what may we expect? Faithfulness is important. The Five Wise Virgins were faithful to keep oil in their lamps, the Holy Spirit. Jesus in Matthew 25:21 said that a believer’s faithfulness would be rewarded: “Well done, thou good and faithful servant…enter thou into the joy of thy lord.” In the closing hours of this age, we need to press in close to the Savior and hold fast to the gift entrusted us.

I agree w/Ed Wood in my personal experience & study. Wasn’t sure if you feel “EVERYONE” has
to speak in tongues before you believe they are Spirit filled & saved.
For those who don’t have the gift of tongues (I do by the way) it can be hurtful. Some will never
have the gift of tongues simply because they are hesitant/scared about it but sometimes others who
desire the gift yet never receive it. They are given other gifts.
It just appears that some in the Pentecostal denomination over emphasize this gift. I’ve always wondered if it’s a given that if a person surrenders to Christ in a Pentecostal Church they will speak in tongues-period. It’s 100% done deal?
Now on the other hand, my 9 yr old daughter is bummed out because she wants the gift of
tongues (like mom) & nothing has happened yet. I’m not going to pre-determine that the Spirit
isn’t going to give that gift but thought you may have some insight for me on that one.
Last but not least- I’ve “heard” that the God never revokes spiritual gifts so if a Christian
were to fall away from the faith they would still retain whatever gifts the Lord gave them. Would
you agree w/that? (Which I do believe a Christain can fall away or have their faith shipwreacked, etc, & God does not take away our free will even when Spirit filled.)
Blessings & I really enjoy your devotionals.
Lisa
Dear Lisa,
This article was not written concerning the Baptism of the Spirit, but rather the ministry of the Spirit in every Believers life. No one should teach that the Baptism of thr Spirit is when we are saved. Indeed that has created much confusion. The Holy Spirit is the author of everything Christ does in a believers life from the moment we are convicted of sin and Born Again. The Spiritual gifts are always resident in the Holy Ghost and not in us. He uses us but we do not possess the gifts for our own control. These gifts cannot minister through a person that has fallen away from Christ. I pray that helps Lisa.

So nice to hear a straight, biblical, Pentecostal, preTrib point of view FOR A CHANGE. And I am a Foursquare Gospel minister! Some may say that the Foursquare denomination has left at least two of the four of its foundational beliefs behind.
Believe me when I say that I personally and desperately need encouragement of this kind in these days. Keep it coming Pastor Chambers…and I say this to all in this virtual community, and those in the Rapture Ready group, and groups like us, rebels and rough riders it seems, remnants and outcasts, “on the fringe” yet firmly on the Mercy Seat with Christ.

I appreciate the oppurtunity to post this even though we disagree with some parts of the
bible. Mathew 25 is written to a Jewish crowd. The Kingdom of Heaven is not set up until
you have a KING. That king is Jesus. He will set up and reign for 1000 years. You can not lose
your salvation, the HOLY SPIRIT can not leak out of you. You can lose it in the Tribulation
but not during the church age. YOu ARE SEALED UNTIL THE DAY OF REDMPTION. THESE VERGINS ARE FROM
REV 7 AND 14. They are Jewish, they observe the Sabath. If they dont look for the Messiah, they
will not be raptured at the end of the trib. IF YOU RED PSALM CH 45, THEY ARE ATTENDEES TO THE WEDDING, the church is ratured before the trib starts. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO ENDURE SOUND DOCTRINE>
You can not lose your salvation, but you can lose your rewards. It is evident, these virgins
did lose their salvation, MATHEW 24 AND 25 DOES NOT APPLY TO THE CHURCH AGE. DO YOU WANT THE SCRIPTURES CONFLICT AGAINST EACH OTHER?
Baptism of the Holy ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues? In acts CH 2 they are known languages, not Giberish. Paul had no respect for this unknown tongue. I would rather speak 5 words
by my own voice that I may teach others than 10000 words in an unknown tongue. He never stated that he spoke in this unknown tongue or had a desire to do it. You are fitting this Baptism of the holy spirit with 1 COR 14. He never stated as this unknown tongue was caused by a Spirit baptism. LOOK
IT UP IN A KJV BIBLE. IT IS NOT THERE, BUT IT DOES TELL US FOR WOMEN TO BE SILENT IN THE CHURCHES, this includes the unknown tongue. But I hear women speak in this unknown tongue. Men also speaking in this unknown tongue without an interpreter. WHEN IS GOD AN AUTHOR OF CONFUSION? Why don’t I hear this language of known tongues as is ACTS CH2? Because it is an unholy Spirit controling your tongue. GOD WILL SEN A DWECEIVING SPIRIT IF YOUR MOTIVE IS NOT RIGHT. In the OT, the Jews asked for bread and god gave him rocks. They asked for a fish and they got a serpent. Why? because their heart was not right. IDOLS where in their heart. HAVE A GOOD DAY> IN CHRIST< TIM
