The Fourth Man in the Fire
Nothing of God’s total Cosmos can compare with the transcending person of His “Only Begotten Son.” John wrote of Him, “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life” (1 John 1:1). The persons that saw Him in His visit to our realm of the Natural and actually saw past the son of Man to the Divine were utterly transformed. The greatest moment in this earthly life is when a person’s eyes are opened and they see “Jesus.”
This moment of His revelation is altogether supernatural. Most church people only know about Him. A true saint of God has seen Him and they will never forget Him. I speak not of our natural eyes or of beautiful descriptive words, but of a moment when he breaks in upon your spiritual person and suddenly you experience Him. It is normally altogether spiritual, and unconverted persons will think you strange. If it is only emotional, it is not the real Jesus.
It was stated by Apostle Paul, “Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost” (1 Corinthians 12:3). There are many false spirits that promote a false Jesus but the true Son of God is revealed by the Holy Ghost alone. He is the Porter standing before the door. He is prepared to usher every totally surrendered soul to the presence of the King.
Anyone that tries to go in some other way is a thief and robber. Those that call Jesus
accursed are deceived and do not have the Spirit of Christ. An imitation Jesus has been manifest by many false spirits. A genuine soul that seeks Him alone cannot be deceived.
The Holy Spirit is the watcher of all spirits and not one spirit can act to deceive a soul
that is in total surrender to Him. Jesus said, “To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice” (John 10:3a).
God’s infallible word is the perfect revelation of the “Only Begotten Son.” Jesus prayed to His Father for us, “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth” (John 17:17). The word “sanctify” means “death to the sin nature and life to the spirit.”
This is His work of grace and is wholly wrought by faith. Just as soon as that old man is dead, the revelation of Jesus Christ will invade your life. Nothing is demanded from you except to cast yourself on Him and give Him all of you.
Even Nebuchadnezzar—unconverted and receiving worship of his subjects—knew Him when he saw Him. He had caused the death of at least six of his greatest warriors as they cast the three Hebrew young men in the furnace of fire. When the blaze was bearable to the human eye, the King looked into the midst of the flame and saw four, not three, walking unharmed in the furnace. The fourth man was unordinary and clearly a person of heavenly splendor.
King Nebuchadnezzar said, “Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God” (Daniel 3:25).
He is beyond description. The Holy Bible uses over one hundred names to declare Him and, still, all those names are insufficient. But His Holy Spirit can take you where words fail. He will lead you right into His altogether majestic presence where you will return transformed. Surrender today! Remember the man, who was possessed by demons, that surrendered at Gadara. He was found sitting at JesusÂ’ feet, clothed and in his right mind asking to go with Him and not to return to the tombs.
