Claiming God’s Blessing in Obedience
The Holy Scripture promises, “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!” (Psalm 139:17). The love of God for His human family is overwhelming and wonderful. He is our Heavenly Father and He knows every one of us. He knows our name and He knows every need. Our great God has established principles that govern His actions and all of His truths in our lives. Number one is His promise to never force Himself or His graces upon us. Everything that He is and that fills His world is ours as His sons and daughters, but we must desire them and receive them. An unsaved person has cut themselves off from Him and He can only woe them back and promise to forgive and receive when they return. Even His born again family is not forced to receive His blessings but must believe Him for them. James said it well, “Ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts” (James 4:2b-3). You see in this promise that He never blesses us in selfishness but when our lives are lived for His glory and kingdom. One additional principle is our faith, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).

Dear Pastor Joseph,
I totally agree with you, we, as the children of our Heavenly Father through our faith in Jesus, have
the privilege of proclaiming all, and I mean all the promises promised to His children, only if we live surrendered lives and let Him work and guide our steps according to His will. It took me a long,
long time to realize this wonderful truth, all we have to do is ask and believe in the faithfulness
and the power of the One who promised that He will never forget or forsake us, and let His supernatural peace fill our hearts and lives.
Blessings,

Response to Arthur:
Since God has the ability to see the past, present, and future, this perspective gives him a decided advantage over us. It is possible because of this omniscience that what appears to be a good thing from your point of view might have future consequences that are not evident, nor in your best interests. This has happened more than once in my own life and over the course of time has proven to be the case. I suppose we could make an analogy that as a kid you might lke to eat candy and ice cream all the time but your parents know that it would be harmful to you in the long run simply because their experience has given them insight which a child lacks.
Hope this helps!

Dear Brother Chambers,
Jesus has placed within me a desire lately to seek, ask, and knock for a greater measure of faith. There are so called “Christians” wandering in the wilderness today with unbelieving disobedience afraid to “take the giants.” How many have the audacity to call themselves “Christain” and still limit God’s power? I’m afraid “saved and satisfied”, making my presence known every Sunday in church, teaching a Sunday School class, and playing a musical instrument don’t cut it for me. I’m thank ful for my abilities, my talents, and my works. But I am power hungry Brother Chambers! He said,”greater works than this shall ye do.” I want power to say and believe I can take Canaan. How many I see today in the church world who are still afraid of the giants. There are even some Christians who seem to be wandering about oblivious to seeing any giants in the land. Are we still an unbelieving generation that displeases God? We’ll never see revival if we don’t stop limiting God’s power. Listen to Heb 4:14: Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest who is passed into the Heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.” What are we professing? To be a Christian? Are we actually professing Christianity? Do we actually have the audacity to say we are Christlike? We better be careful what we’re saying. We might have to ask the Lord to forgive us for lying. The only way our heavenly Father can give us the good gifts is by us desiring them from Him. He knows how to give good gifts to His children, but His children must desire them. I would not give my child a gift they did not want, but if my child showed a great desire for the gift and I saw how it would benefit him, I would give it to him. Jesus said He would not withhold any good thing from us. In the 12th chapter of Acts people were praying all night for Peter to come out of prison. They surely wanted Peter out. They had a zeal but seemed to have been lacking in faith. There were to be commended for their zeal in praying without ceasing, but their faith did not measure up to such an answer to prayer. They told Rhoda she was mad when she told them Peter was at the door. Is this the way we are praying for revival? Are we looking and expecting revival? I honestly think that when revival comes some who call themselves “Christian” are going to think the rest of us are mad! Zacharias and Elisabeth surely wanted to have a son. Zacharias was full of unbelief. And the angel said,”Thou shalt be dumb, because thou believest not.” He looked at the circumstances instead of believing God’s power. But look at Mary. When the angel came to her, Mary said,”Be it unto me according to thy Word.” It was her “Amen” to the will of God. Her attitude was “It is,” because God has spoken it.” Brother Chambers, as you know there is a difference between natural faith and supernatural faith; that is between our faith and the faith of Jesus. Our faith comes to an end. We have to take another faith. A faith that cannot be denied, a faith that takes the promise, a faith that believes God’s Word. I want this kind of faith Brother Chambers that will shake hell and everything else. Then, I can be more of what my Father expects of me as I take His name, “Christian.” “Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Diligently seek Him! Diligently seek Him! Diligently seek Him! When we can say, as Paul, “I live no longer, and Another, even Christ, has taken the reins and the rule.”
