Driven Away From the Anointing
There are an incredible number of good people who are being driven away from the anointing of the Holy Ghost. In fact, that is one of the main points for Satan’s masquerade of false prophets or the false anointing. The devil is not afraid of unanointed churches. A church may be Biblical in doctrine but dead in spirit. Satan has won in a dead church just as equal as he has in a false church.
One of the primary reasons that most evangelical churches do not entertain the Book of Acts and its Pentecostal experience is the fear of losing control. History is loaded with warnings, unbalanced experiences, and out-of-control emotions. These facts have plagued the church for almost two thousand years. But, listen! That has been Satan’s design all along. He masquerades his deception in undiscerning people and then the genuine people of God move away to protect themselves from the false. How foolish can we be? Satan is the victor when there is a display of the false, and he is the victor when there is a rejection of the true. Either way, Satan wins and we lose.
Jesus plainly said to His disciples, "Tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem until ye be endued with power (anointing) from on high." (Luke 24:49). A gospel sermon that is full of truth must also be full of the anointing of the Holy Ghost. It is the "anointing that breaks the yoke." Our churches are full of religious people just like Cornelius in Acts chapter ten. He was devout, prayed to God always, feared God, and gave much alms. He would not attend most churches six months before someone made him a deacon or an elder. But, he was not even saved until he sent for Peter and the Holy Ghost filled him and his household as Peter preached the Word with power.
If you are looking for a safe church where you do not have to worry about something false trying to invade the House of God, your only answer is to find a dead church. But, why do we need to be afraid of the false? I’ve been a pastor for almost forty-three years and I have had to deal with false things on a regular basis. Wait a minute! That is why God gave the church shepherds and/or pastors. A Holy Ghost-filled pastor is like a shepherd in the sheep gate. He watches for the wolves and stops them at the gate. Occasionally, a wolf will slip in unnoticed, but I’ve always loved to use the "Sword of the Word" on them and watch them run.
With the Charismatic nonsense flooding the world, many hurt sheep are running to dry pastures for safety. That’s like a man, who was fed poisoned waters, running to a desert to escape. The man who dies from thirst is no deader than the man who dies from poison. A false anointing of the Holy Ghost is no more displeasing to God than no anointing. A "false river" should never make his church deny the "wells of living waters." Jesus said, "In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)" (John 7:37-39). Thank God for the genuine anointing of the Holy Ghost.
