"REVIVAL" God Hath Spoken
It’s thrilling to search the Scriptures and see the great promise of “Latter Rain Revival.” In these days of great apostasy and false shepherds that have turned truth on its head, God will visit again. The Holy Bible is a book of hope and promise. The enemies of truth have often had their day, but they never have the last word. In both Testaments, God’s prophets promised us — by the Holy Spirit — that our God would rend the heavens and come down.
It’s amazing how Isaiah (740-697 B.C.) and Zechariah (520-?) described the apostasy and false prophets that would characterize the very last days. But, the great truth is that they were men of promise that God would visit with revival after the false had been judged. Isaiah said, “Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him” (Isaiah 64:1,4).
Apostle Paul quoted this fourth verse in I Corinthians 2:9 so that we could not doubt that the words of Isaiah were for us in the second Testament. Zechariah’s promises are so full of present day fulfillment that only a careless person would doubt.
Zechariah’s prophecies are breathtaking. “Ask ye of the LORD rain in the time of the latter rain; so the LORD shall make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to every one grass in the field” (Zechariah 10:1). James, the Lord’s half-brother and faithful servant marked the time of this rain, “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain” (James 5:7). If the Lord’s Rapture of His saints is awaiting the “Latter Rain,” then we know it is about to happen. Most of the church world denies it but that will not stop the Lord. He keeps His promises.
Notice how Zechariah marks the false shepherds and identifies them as diviners that have spoken lies, “For the idols have spoken vanity, and the diviners have seen a lie, and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain: therefore they went their way as a flock, they were troubled, because there was no shepherd” (Zechariah 10:2). The Word of God then declares, “Mine anger was kindled against the shepherds, and I punished the goats” (Zechariah 10:3a). God Himself calls false preachers that have forsaken the right way “goats.”
Where are the Preachers that are preaching righteousness and holiness to this generation? The statement, “Emergent Church!” has become the primary language of the Evangelical church world. Rock music and soulical lyrics are swooning the flock into a stupor. Religion is loved by the deceived that flood the mega-cathedrals; but, abortion, divorce, and homosexuality are rampant. God has become a figment of the imagination, but His awesome Holiness is long lost and forgotten. He will reveal Himself shortly.
It’s thrilling to read the powerful words of Peter at Pentecost. He was echoing, Isaiah, Zechariah, and Joel, etc. These words can no more fail than the sun is going to fall. “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy: And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come” (Acts 2:17-20).
An outpouring of the Holy Ghost is at the door. The Apostate Christian world will be left to either repent and become Tribulation Saints or join the Antichrist and False Anointing to march toward Hell with Satan’s Mark of the Beast. This Apostate Church will actually believe that they are serving the modern Christ. Here are the exact words from an email I received on September 11, 2009. “I believed that we are now in a Rapture phase. I’ve been having visions over and over again of massive number of US Marines deploying back into Iraq very soon. They won’t be alone, massive numbers of God’s army will join them there. I have a son in USMC boot camp right now, and another son going to Army boot camp this December. We are servants of God, and we’re ready to lay down our earthly life to help God in defeating his enemies. We will be figthing dual battles against the livingdead in Christ and the spiritual world’s demons on this battlefield. Every souls against Christ will perish” (Email Sent to Me). This is a picture of modern day Post-Millennialism.
How will they justify themselves after the supernatural event of the Rapture? One of the deceived has said, “This fundamental crowd that refuses the paradigm shift will be removed to a non-physical realm so the Age of Enlightenment can usher in the cosmic Christ.” There is nothing of human imagination as powerful as a diabolical deception. The apostasy of this generation has convinced a multitude that the infallible Word of God is not really infallible. Everything of the Bible has become relative. The great moral and practical standard of the Bible is considered cultural teaching of the past and no longer applies to the believer. I heard a minister tell a funeral crowd this week that God will clean you up when He gets you inside His heaven. He even said “that David the Psalmist was the greatest sinner in th e Bible, but called a man after God’s own heart.”
Holy Ghost revival is on the way. No one knows the exact date it will break. The Word of God has declared that, “For when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness” (Isaiah 26:9). It will be judgment mixed with harvest time. It will not be a rock concert called evangelism or shorts-clad preachers wooing the unsuspecting. It will be fiery righteousness that transforms sinners into saints. The presence of God will bring joy and purity to warm the heart and transform the will. It will be a little bit of heaven on earth. “Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby Thou didst confirm Thine inheritance, when it was weary” (Psalm 68:9).
